My Journey to Becoming a Family Photographer
I was recently interviewed by Canvas Rebel Magazine and I was honored to share my business journey as a family photographer for families on vacation in Scotland with them.
Reflecting on my path as a family photographer, I’m so thankful for the childhood my parents gave me. Their love for the outdoors, whether hiking rugged trails or camping beneath the stars, they built a deep connection to nature that shapes my work today. My dad’s passion for landscape photography and my mom’s scrapbooking talent documented our adventures, creating a visual story of our life that inspires me.
In my 20s, I moved frequently, trying new jobs and navigating the freedom of a long-distance relationship. I’m originally from Michigan, but after graduating college I moved to Arizona, to Washington & Massachusetts following seasonal work in the outdoors. Recently, I found myself disconnected from my purpose. I knew I needed to prioritize my passions to be a happy, fulfilled mother for my child.
Photography became my creative passion, allowing me to rediscover myself and capture moments of beauty. Each new photoshoot was a reminder of my determination to create a life filled with joy and comfort. To me, photography is about storytelling, connecting with others, and experiencing the beauty in the everyday.
Now, as someone who calls Scotland home, I love exploring the off the beaten track spots and hidden gems of this stunning country with my husband and child. Helping families discover nature’s beauty preserve memories of their unforgettable adventures is incredibly fulfilling. Your photos aren’t just images – they’re timeless treasures that capture the essence of who you are and the love that fills your life.
My journey is a reflection of the power of capturing life's most beautiful moments. If you’re ready to explore, connect, and be filled with wonder, I’m here to guide you. Life is too beautiful not to be captured, cherished, and celebrated.
