When this family reached out to me to be their Aberdeen family photographer, they didn’t just want traditional family photos, they wanted to remember the feeling of being happy and together in beautiful Scotland. We decided on a cliffside spot just south of Stonehaven for their family photoshoot in Scotland. They wanted to remember their kids at this young age, and since the youngest brother was currently obsessed with Peter Pan, we decided to loosely style the shoot around a Neverland adventure! We went to a waterfall at the RSPB Fowlsheugh reserve. It’s one of my favourite hidden gems near Aberdeen, wild, cinematic, and ideal for families who want something a little more adventurous. (We’ll make sure to talk about safety with the kids too)
Scotland has most incredible backdrops for storytelling. We chat together to find the perfect location that adds depth to your family portraits in Scotland.
This session wasn’t about posing, it was about being together and having fun. About letting the kids be kids, letting the wind mess up our hair, and just have a good time
If you’ve been looking for a family photoshoot experience in Scotland that’s relaxed, playful, and unique to your world, this might be just the thing.
