If you’ve found your way here, welcome. I’m Alyssa, the wedding photographer behind Alyssa Kaye Photo, and I absolutely love photographing small, heartfelt weddings for couples who care more about connection and memories than tradition or fuss.

I’m a laid-back wedding photographer based in Scotland and happy to travel to Edinburgh for weddings. I used to live in Edinburgh so I know lots of special corners and gorgeous spots around the city, or outside of the city that make for incredible places to get married. Many of my couples book me as little as a few weeks before their wedding day, so whether you’re planning ahead or reaching out last-minute, you’re in the right place.

Here’s exactly what it’s like to work with me as your wedding photographer in Edinburgh, step by step.

Step 1: Initial Chat

Once you fill in the contact form on my website, I’ll get back to you quickly so we can start chatting about your day. You can tell me about your plans so far, where you’re thinking of getting married, and what kind of feel you want your wedding photos to have. We can chat by email, or you can book a free consultation call with me if you’d like.

Step 2: Booking Your Date

Because I love working with small, relaxed weddings, I can often accommodate bookings even just a few weeks in advance. Once we’ve decided we’re a good fit, I’ll send you a booking link with your contract and invoice to secure your date.

Step 3: Getting to Know You

After you’re booked in, I’ll send over a little note and a thoughtful gift from me to you, just a small way to say congratulations and let you know how excited I am to photograph your day.

Step 4: Calls

If you want to chat through details, I’m happy to hop on a phone or video call (or two) to talk about timing, locations, or anything else on your mind. If you’d rather keep things simple, that’s fine too, I’m very easy going and can work around whatever you need.

Step 5: Location Ideas

Since I’ve photographed weddings around Edinburgh before, I can recommend some beautiful photo locations if you’re not sure where to go. Whether it’s a quiet beach, a cobblestone street, or somewhere overlooking the city, I’m happy to help you plan where to take your portraits.

Step 6: Your Wedding Day

On the day itself, you can simply relax and enjoy yourselves. I’ll guide you gently when needed but otherwise let the day unfold naturally, capturing all the joy, quiet moments, and little details that make your wedding yours. I’m there to document your story without getting in the way.

Step 7: Your Gallery

Within a few weeks, I’ll send you a private online gallery with pic-time where you can view, download, and share your wedding images. You’ll receive a curated selection of your best moments, edited in my signature style, ready to treasure.
